As compared to people who are living in urban areas, people in rural areas are more likely to commit suicide. Reasons may b negative thoughts linked with mental health, lack of mental health care hospitals, illiteracy and poverty.
Furthermore, this is a fact that any society does not show typical attitude to people who are suffering from health issues. Even people with mental health issues are so stigmatized that society does not welcome them even if they have taken proper treatment.
China’s Health Statistics Yearbooks than in both urban and rural areas suicide rate is high in men than women.
Reason can be that females are mentally and emotionally more strong as compared to males. Females do share their strain of stressful lives. Even if they are admitted to hospitals, they do think that they should return to their homes families and jobs as soon as possible. It’s not like that people sudden try to commit suicide, behind each suicide is enduring struggles of individuals as well as their traumatic and depressing experience with family and close ones. As a researcher and psychologist, we should struggle to ensure that how can we prevent these depressed people from committing suicide?
Moreover, we can do that by improving our identification so that people should have a clear mindset that psychologist is the one to whom they can trust blindly and discuss their issues and problems which are making them stressed. It is a fact that people need strong confidentiality from a psychologist.
I will also add the fact about parents that instead of being authoritarian or permissive, they should be authoritative, s style in which they will show affectionate and flexibility because the house is the first place where individual learn how to cope with stress and how to be a strong person in this society.
Now people mostly do not share their problems, issues or thoughts which are disturbing them. Everyone is wearing a persona, a mask to show they are good and best.
Suicide interferes with many factors as a family and personal history, neurobiology, socio-cultural environment and stressful events.
